Ordered but not delivered!!

Hi All, I have been trying to decide for months what to replace my existing Sportage 3 Nav. Have had it for nearly 5 years and used it for towing which we no longer do.

Have wanted to downsize and looked at Fiat 500X, Mazda CX3, Kia Stonic amongst others but my heart was always for the Arona.

Having read all the stories about long deliveries and having struggled to find out what the 2019 models would be, I took the plunge last week and ordered a 1.0 DSG Xcellence Lux EZ in Desire red, wanted the black roof but that option had been sold.

The dealer in Poole has said that the car is on a scheduled build of week 36, which should be next week, with delivery sometime in October, we shall see. If it had been a factory order, it would have been Jan/Feb next year. It should come with the new digital dash but not sure if it keeps the leather dash trim or not and the seat trim is now just Microsuede.

As another member said, Seat missed a trick in not offering a panoramic roof on the Arona, but with the new Eazy spec, hence the EZ in the car detail, it looks like all Seats have lost any option.

How come yours is a build week of 36, if you ordered last week? Is it because of the model? I personally don't mind the fact the Arona doesn't have any options, I think it makes it easier!
I am guessing your car was a dealer order for their stock for sale which they have converted into a sale to you. Possibly it was a customer who cancelled a while back, due to delays, but dealer continued the order and now has car for prompt delivery.

Unfortunately too many dealers seem to employ bean counters that think having cars in showroom that people can buy, and drive away couple of days later is a daft idea. The enlightened dealers that can deliver quickly deserve the sales they get.

It was a scheduled car for the dealer, just a shame I had to forgo the black roof option to get the early delivery. Still it saves having to face a price rise in the new year.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. Ordered my Arona at the end of June.
Dealer says it's in the UK and at port. That was 3 weeks ago.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get through customs etc.?
Varies, 8-12 days is typical (however as today 31 Aug, is last day on registration for cars that are not WLTP (new emissions spec) compliant, might be delayed as there is rush to get the others out first. Would not normally take 3 weeks.

Basically has to await a transporter going to your dealership (so depends on other cars to fill the truck), although sometimes will be a split drop with another dealer nearby

When the dealer receives it, allow 1-3 days for inspection / prep (called PDI). Many dealers do not accept cars at weekends, evenings or overnight when service Dept (which does PDI) shut so in practice delivery times are limited.

No customs delay as built to EC spec standards, although could be paperwork delays after Brexit.

The only bonus is now will get the new 68 registration plate (starts 1st September)

Probably on Pegasus Ace, which left Barcelona 15:43 on 3rd September
Is at Cachafarro, Setubel port (use google maps satellite view, and can see the car terminal)
VW Group has a factory between Setubel and Lisbon (makes Alhambra and VW Caddy)

Use a ship tracker, or marine tracker website and you will know where ship has got to

You were correct Snowdaddy, it was on the Pegasus Ace and was off loaded at Sheerness yesterday, just wait now until it has arrived at the dealer in Poole.

Hi Brian, been advised by the dealer that the car is due with him next Tuesday with a pick up end of the week or early the week after. Best of luck with yours😊

Off to pick up the new car this morning, not bad, 4 weeks from order but it was already in the system so had to compromise on the lack of the black roof option, better than waiting months and seeing the price rise and my Sportage loosing money.
