Hi Guys

Thought this might be worth a read if you've ever wondered whether to Run a New car in by driving it like you've stolen it, or is there a more methodical approach

Enjoy....or not

Re: 61k - Time for some new Disc Pads

Many thanks Motorman for your response and kind words, I must admit it was with tongue in cheek when I said that "I expected the Disc Pads to last until 100k at least" I've been absolutely gob smacked by the mileage on the Brakes and Tyres. My last company car an Audi A4, in the three year...

Re: Chip Tuning Arona 1.5 TSI

Hi Totally agree that you are better having a custom remap but with my car this involved opening up the ECU and as its is still under warranty I didn't want to go down that route. Instead I had a box installed and after approx 15k miles and over 15 months I've never had any issues at all. Despite al...

61k - Time for some new Disc Pads

I'm amazed that after just over two years and 61000 miles that the pads on the Arona 1.0ltr need replacing. I would have thought they would have lasted until I renew it next year. Well at least its only the Front Disc Pads, the dealer says the Discs are within tolerance and should be OK.....should b...

Re: Why Do We Not Trust Some Of Our Dealers

Guys Thanks for he info it's very much appreciated and agree totally about using either original brake pads/ shoes & discs to get 42k out of a set speaks volumes. No issues in the wet and as you say you could buy cheaper but would you feel comfortable and would they last as long I don't know. Bu...

Why Do We Not Trust Some Of Our Dealers

I'll tell you why I don't trust my local Seat Dealer. A couple of weeks ago I reported that my car went in for a "Free Brake Check" at 45k miles. The "Vehicle Heath Check Report" came back claiming that the Front Discs were measured at 22mm and the Front Pads at 10mm. The "R...

Re: Noisy brakes

I agree with Ditch on dampening Its something I noticed not long after getting the car. On stripping the brakes down (fronts only, car has discs & drums) I filed the edges of the pads where they sit in the caliper and greased the edges and back of the pads 45k miles later, not a muff. You might ...

15 Months & 45239 miles Brake Check

At the beginning of October I'll be travelling down through France for a couple of weeks. So I thought it might be a good opportunity to take up the offer of my Local Dealer for a free Brake Check. I noticed when I replaced my original Hancook Tyres at 42300 miles that the pads and discs were a tad ...

Changing The Pollen Filter

Hi Guys The car has just returned from its Annual Service 36000 miles . And I would have thought that the Pollen / Cabin Filter would have been changed. Well in the 12 months of ownership and two dealer services later, it hasn't, and its not due for renewal until the 54k Service I'm informed by the ...
