Re: Running In A New Engine

BFP I am not going to argue. As a scientist, when faced with studies, not hearsay, I will consider the evidence and make my own mind up 😀. Do the same and do your own study, come back with your findings or references and I'll be happy to consider them. Did you read the links I gave? Ian, the only me...

Re: Running In A New Engine

Ian, here is my original plan that I stuck to. The car runs very well. I am a sceptical, scientific kind of a guy so I made my own decisions based on a lot of reading. I suspect the topic is like Marmite: there are those who say it is necessary and those who say it isn't. The problem is that if ther...

Re: Key Battery Type

I have done very low mileage, 8,500 miles approximately and had the car for about 23 months.

It is keyless, like yours Lampie, but the key battery is stll used to transmit signals to the car: to let the car know the key is present and of course to lock and unlock the doors remotely.

Key Battery Type

My keys started giving the low battery warning so I changed the batteries for CR2032s, which I had and looked like the ones I took out. I had all sorts of trouble with the car saying there was no key, doors not locking/unlocking and so on. Anyway, I looked at the battery spec., which said CR2025. Th...

Re: New Member

Stuart, I have no idea what it might be (loose cable?). Try asking on the technical threads as some members may not read the Introductions one.

Re: New Member

Welcome. I am another satisfied Xcellence owner. I didn't find the extra money for the Lux was worth it for me (YMMV). I did not want the larger alloys as they give a harsher ride. I did not need the rear view camera. There is nothing wrong with the extra specification just that I spent their cost o...

Re: Tyre pressure on SE Technology 95 tdi.

I think the 'i' pictures are indicating cold weather - low thermometer. So it's the lower pressures for cold conditions. The manual confusingly talks about winter tyres. 38/35psi for me. See back in the thread. The "i" is a comfort setting and nothing to do with temperature. Think of it as the lowe...

Re: Auto Light Setting and Instrument Brightness

Brian, the manual is a bit lacking in clarity or I am lacking in comprehension 🙄. I tried to understand it before I posted. Anyway, I went out at dusk to see if I still had the "no main beam, no numbers, no icon lights" problem. I wasn't able to replicate it. The light switch was on AUTO. However I ...

Auto Light Setting and Instrument Brightness

I had a rather unsettling experience coming back from a late night outdoor show at the weekend. I keep my lights on Auto. This night, I couldn't get full beam and the instrument cluster numerals and air system logos were not lit, meaning I did not know my speed nor could I unfog the windows. Luckily...

Re: Further to

Mick, I don't know of anything but there is a list of examples that comes up on the screen. I gave up on voice but both my wife and I had fun trying. The software just didn't understand us and told us so like a schoolma'am. I tried carefully "eeenunnseeaaatiing" but to no avail. It is partcularly ba...
