Re: New FR Sport 1.5 TSI on order

Well, I wish my dealer had placed a few speculative orders. I ordered on 25 March, eventually got a build date of W/c 3 June, was told that it had been built and was in Spain awaiting shipping on 12 June and since then a thunderous silence from the dealer. Call SEAT Customer Services. They will tel...

Re: Which of these cars would you choose?

Nissan Qashqai was the worst new car I ever bought. Faulty paintwork ill fitting panels poorly fitted window seals. Quality Control were obviously on holiday when the car was produced - it should never have left the factory. While some of the problems were rectified I got rid of the car within 18 mo...

Re: Manual gearbox issues

I have the same spec Arona. Initially my gearbox was decidedly "notchy", but now with 2K miles on the clock has settled down considerably and is now perfecly smooth changing both up and down the box. One thing I did find initially is that the clutch has to be depressed to its fullest extent to make ...

Re: Standard fit tyres

Ditto - Early March delivery. I was so pleased not to get Pirelli or Continental :) . I'm interested to know why you're pleased not to get Continental tyres? Do they not suit the Arona? MM I don't know what suits the Arona, it's just my limited exposure to Pirelli and Continentals fitted as OEM ite...

Re: Super unleaded v unleaded

@supersnail - Having read that pages quoted I agree with you. The manual is not clear and indeed is contradictory. I take comfort in the footnote on page 311 "fuel with an octane rating higher than the one required by the engine can be used . I'll continue with the 98 octane but take comfort that if...

Re: Super unleaded v unleaded

The manual at page 311 states that "at least" 95 octane should be used and that Super unleaded 98 octane plus is " recommended" . Based on that and my fuel cap stating a minimum of 95 octane should be used, I shall continue as before with the recommended Super Unleaded. I am not knowledgeable enough...

Re: Ride quality of the FR

I would describe the ride quality as firm, but well planted. I too live in a country environment with the usual pot holed roads and have no complaints about the ride. I could adjust the tyre pressures a little lower to soften the ride, but have not felt the need to do so. As for the 115 engine - it ...

Re: Super unleaded v unleaded

For all but one refill where there was no Super Unleaded available I use Tesco Momentum, purely because SEAT recommend using the higher octane rating and I think being such a small engine it needs all the help it can get!
