Re: Arona 1.6 Diesel 95hp Fuel efficiency!

"Will it get better over time" - emphatically. yes. It takes 1500-2000 miles for it to really develop true diesel torque. I keep my dash display set to instantaneous fuel consumption so I have quite a good handle on what improves mileage. MPG depends very much on how you drive it, heavy acceleration...

Re: Main dealer service charge

I would ask for an itemised bill.
Assume £80-90 per hour for labour, that leaves 70-90 for parts and profit.
Last dealer service I had done on my previous Seat (some years ago) was around £170, so i'm thinking £254 isn't so unexpected (though I'd prefer it to be nearer £200).

Re: Wireless Charging installed later?

I have wireless charging but don't have a phone that can use it. Even if I did, I wouldn't use it because the enregy efficiency of inductive charging is so poor(only 50-60% under optimal conditions). Better to charge with a cable, better still to charge at home rather than generating the electricity...

Re: Reluctant Arona buyer

Park it ingear on a sloping drive (good rule for any car).
The load space is enormous for the size of car and it is a nice car to drive: comfy and well behaved.
I wouldn't call it an SUV, no four-wheel drive and not really sporty.
Just an all round good motor.

Re: Spec choice - advice please

I'm no great fan of automatics, at any time, so I'm biased against the DSG. I have the SE Tech 95 1.6TDI. Power wise it is OK, but would appreciate a bit more. If you could get a 115bhp petrol non-automatic I think that would be your best bet. After that it is a matter of how much tech/trim you want...

Re: Can infotainment screen take the heat?

The only time I had this was on a not particularly hot day and it cme back to life either spontaneously or as a result of my long pressing one or both buttons. My car has suffered plenty of long hot spells with no infotainment problems. I'm wondering if it might be a loose connection somewhere, trig...

You should obscure your number plate mate. There are bad people out there.

Very nice though :)

Re: Is this ABS or what happened?

I have found the front assist to be a bit flaky if the light conditions are 'wrong'. For instance if driving along a tree lined road in low sun, the flashing light/dark seems to send it a bit batty and make it oversensitive, causing FA activate when not really necessary. OTOH, on one occasion it has...
