Hi. I have noticed a bit of a whine from an Arona auto gearbox only when warming up then goes, is this normal?
Only 11000 miles

mine is silent at all times.... so NO its not normal!
what milage do you have?

It might be the turbo, got 2 yr SEAT warranty when bought from dealer, if it is the bearings doubt it will be covered. Mileage 11000

Its not the turbo. Guess a visit to the dealer is called for.
Seems to only do it from cold so guess will have to leave it with them overnight which is not very convenient. Perhaps I can get a courtesy car !!
Should anything go wrong in the next 2 years at least it is logged.

I have a little whine from new, only in 6th gear (DSG)
now almost 40000km later... no change, it's still there, didn't get worse,by me it did not change with a warm or cold engine

I am finding that this whine is still there up to operating temp, does not seem to have changed in the few months that I have had it, I rang a dealer and the Service Manager has said that this is normal for the dsg gearbox, whilst I realise that different cars have different noises and I have driven a few auto gearbox's, this has never been on any of the other makes of cars I have had. For those with auto's are you aware of this whine and is this something that I will have to live with?

My 4 year old, 40k model is whisper quiet, I'd get it checked out.

Put your complaint in writing to the dealership, they will keep fobbing you off until your warranty expires….
