Wanted to wash the front windscreen today below the 'sleeping' wipers. Also wanted to clear out dead leaves etc.Wasn't able to lift the wipers more than a couple of inches without them fouling the bonnet.

Decided that the only way was to open the bonnet. Not very practical. Design fault? Any thoughts.

I you read the manual there is a setting " service position " that lets them stop at the top of the stroke so you can lift them up

How to get to the service position for the wipers.
This can be used in the winter to help secure a screen cover in place over the windscreen.

Service position (for changing wiper blades)
● Ensure that the wiper blades are not frozen.
● Turn the ignition on and off and then (within
approximately 9 seconds) push the windscreen
wiper lever down (short wipe). The
windscreen wipers will move to the service
position ››› Fig. 89.

I have done some testing on my car and I found that getting the wiper blades into the service position you need to press for wash wipe immediately after switching off the ignition. (Stop/Start Button on Mine)
I have the keyless stop/start system, and the instructions in the manual say to press within 9 seconds.
It does not work. more like 9 milliseconds :)

So if your struggling with get the wipers in to the service position. then try this way.. it worked every time for me.
