Hi all,

What does the Dealership have to do once the car arrives before the handover can be arranged?

Our car arrived with them on Wednesday - 23/01/19 and I'm finding hard to pin them down to a handover date. I thought I was being reasonable giving them a week, so collect on Wednesday 30/01/19.

Thanks

They have to do a pre delivery inspection (PDI), which involves cleaning, checking and testing (and if required rectification)
In many dealerships they can do this in 2-3 days

So you are being perfectly reasonable, does it really matter to you if person who you had dealt with has a day off and someone else hands it over

Just a thought, if you wait until Friday 1st Feb, your tax would run out 31/1/20 rather than end of Dec so saving about £12 as don't get credit for part months

Your dealer can tax the car for a year and a week, mine was registered on the 28th of Jan 2018, the tax runs out on 31st Jan 2019.
