The platform for the Seat Arona will be shared with the future Volkswagen Polo as with its derivative SUV. This Seat should receive an evolution of the MQB platform dedicated to small models, and compatible with AWD.

Even though the platform supports AWD does not mean the Arona will be available with that option. The majority of buyers of Arona, however, prefer to settle for front-wheel drive, as is the case with all the rivals that offer both types of transmission. It is unlikely many will venture off-road and most prefer FWD for the cheaper running costs and being more fuel efficient.
