Arona armrest

Post by ONN68 » Tue Oct 23, 2018 1:41 pm

Hello everybody.
I am new to the forum. I bought a showroom model of Arona 1.0l petrol Xcellence lux in Mystery blue with Black roof. I have only had it 3 weeks. I noticed a few things that I hope someone might have the answers.
It has the Alcantara suede upholstery with leather trim but armrest is finished in fabric. Should it be leather?
It has a spare wheel but the tube that secures it inside the boot is too short for the plastic nut to start on to the threaded part of the tube.
The service book, apart from having a sticker on first page with vehicle details, has nothing about being PD inspected and engine bay is incredibly dusted.
I don’t know the build date of this car if that matters.
Going in past garage to see them tomorrow. Just want to be better informed before I go.
Thanks In anticipation.

I can't help with your armrest query, but regarding the spare wheel, there are more than one size of plastic spinner/nut that holds the wheel down, depending on whether a full size or space saver is fitted. I'm guessing your wheel was dealer fitted and the dealer used the wrong nut.

Standard spare wheel kit parts are photographed in this thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=266

If you have the Beats audio in your Xcellence Lux then you should have a different spare, a 18 inch spacesaver.

The PDI should be recorded with a stamp in the service book.

Hi thanks for the replies re spare wheel fixing and tools it comes with. I don’t have the Beats audio or sub woofer. The plastic nut does screw on to the plastic tube but as the tube doesn’t protrude through the wheel far enough nut won’t secure wheel.
I don’t have a strap with the spare wheel kit.
I will attach some photos. One is of a label inside the boot beside the spare wheel. I hope they help.
Thanks again for the help.

I have an FR and I bought the spare wheel kit seperately it is a 16" steel rim.
The foam insert is nothing like the one you have pictured.
The wheel fits into the well first then the foam fits inside the wheel. I will try and get a picture.

It maybe that the foam insert you have is intended for the 18" spacesaver supplied with the Xcellence Lux with Beats audio?

Here is the photo. Sorry its a little dark!

Hi Nigel58. Thanks for the photo it’s clear enough. I now see where the strap in other photos goes. This is totally different from my setup. For clarity I do not have the Beats audio.
I am so confused as to what I should have as standard on my Xcellence Lux. As it seems Seat have changed the specs so much times in the short period since the Arona launch.
I think if I can find the week build of my particular car I can narrow down what it should have fitted.
Might be clearer after my visit to dealer tomorrow.

Looks like there is a difference between the 16 and 18" spare wheel foam inserts and method of mounting.

There is a VIN checker which should tell you build date and what is fitted to your vehicle.

Thanks again nigel58. The link worked a treat. I now know the production date of my car. I have discussed with the dealer what should be on the car. They are checking it out and getting back to me.
