Hi
Finally decided to try and update my satnav info with your help
.
I have bought a 32 Gb SD card, I presume it will require formatting, which one ? Fat32 NTFS ?
Thanks
Ah I think I must have misunderstood
Followed all of the instructions and it does not work, but now think it will only work with the original card?
Have backed up the original so now do I delete the original card and follow the instructions again?
A further question have the latest versions eliminated the silly instructions given by the satnav eg turning off a motorway/A road only to rejoin at the same junction.

I asked my dealer in Exeter yesterday. He told me that I would have to buy a new SD card from them. I think he quoted around £150. I told him where to put it ! It is disgusting if self downloaded updates are not available. My Tom Tom used in my previous car has free downloads for life.

In the UK : backup your data to a disk.
download the new map, extract it with 7-zip to the empty original SD-card (just delete content first, do not format)
and copy the file Overall.nds out of your backup onto the SD card, click yes when the system asks to overwrite the existing file.
Done....

When you have mapcare.. just use updatemanager on the VW site.

Hi,

I was too confident and did not backup before copying the new files. Can someone please share the original ovarall.nds file?

Hi All

Just updated to version 1410 from the Seat Website deleted old maps from SD card then copied new 1410 maps

But don't forget to copy the Overhaul NDS file from the SD card before you start then copy it back and over right the old one

Problems.... !

Downloaded the first maps file from seat uk site... chose arona etc.

Extracted it and copied to card (after deleting the maps folder) then found 5 instances of Overall.nds !

So overwrote all of them with the same files from my backup... is this right ?

As it didn't work :-(

Backup works still, but would like a newer map, so help please ?

There is only one OVERHALL .NDS

Its in Maps/ ECC/ EEC_WLD
On the SD card

You should have copied the old map folder first so you have a back up only the OVERHALL.NDS FILE FROM THE SD CARD WILL WORK WITH YOUR CAR

Just updated to 1410 by copying the original OVERALL.nds file to the correct directory on the new update. All working fine :)
