Service intervals?
Service intervals?
What’s the general feeling in service intervals?
We have the 2 service, service pack with my wife’s car.
The car (1.5 dsg) is calling for its first service in 2 years.
Question is, does the service pack cover the first 2 services over 2 years (1 each year) or over 4 years (1 every 2 years)?
It’s another of those little things that’s not very clear with Seat!

Re: Service intervals?
go into the car menu , and look at the service interval...
mine had 30000km or 2 years
the car will tell you in time.

Re: Service intervals?
Yes, I understand that, my question is how does this relate to the service pack?
Does the service pack want to do 2 services in 2 years or 2 in 4 years?

Re: Service intervals?
Does seem to be rather sparse on detail these days.
I’m sure in the past used to say something like one service and one intermediate (or inspection). And service plan based on doing 10,000 miles per year
Interestingly Skoda (with same engine and running gear) say in their brochure can either do fixed services annually, or go variable which can be anywhere from 9000 to 20000 miles (depending on how you use car) and upto 24 months
What is clear is regardless of mileage service dates are earlier of time and mileage, and initial time is 2 years, but some parts are due at end of third year
I opted to have a fixed service at 12 and 24 months (even though car was initially set to variable) and paying for each one, my combined cost was less than £414 of the plan, so I think plan is poor value

Re: Service intervals?
I have a service plan and with all the short journeys I have been doing during the various lock downs will definitely get the car serviced at 12 months.
Re: Service intervals?
Yeah,
Im sure we will get her car serviced annually. Its currently set to every 2 years, but she just wont do the journeys for that. She does a lot of short trips so the oil will degrade quicker.
We got the service plan as a sweetener to secure the deal, definitely worth a few quid!

Re: Service intervals?
No Serviceplans overhere in Holland, mine had it's first service 2 weeks ago.
every 2 years or 30000km whatever comes first.

Re: Service intervals?
Yeah, I think if I was paying, I’d do what the car asks for, ie 2yr service according to the dash display.
However, as mentioned above, if you have the service pack, I assume it is 2 services in the first 2 years.

Re: Service intervals?
Yes, that's correct if you have the Fixed Interval Service Plan.
With all the Covid restrictions my first 12month service on the fixed interval 2 yr plan came round at 2624 miles and my next, (due July), will probably be at less than 5000 miles! If only I had known what was to come when I shelved-out £353 for the service plan up front.
