Arona rival, the new Skoda Kamiq

Post by Snowdaddy » Wed Feb 06, 2019 11:53 am

Skoda are launching their version of the Arona at Geneva motor show 5-17 March ... -interior/ ... oda-kamiq/

Looks like will have versions to compete with Xcelence Lux (microfiber seats, digital dashboard etc), but appears to have options not available on Arona eg Heated front windscreen, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats (presumably heated front seats are standard on some specs)

The ambient lighting has 3 colours, copper, white and red (Arona only has white and red)

Similar size (might even use identical doors), same engines etc

No idea on pricing yet, or when deliveries commence.

But if they fix the two main UK bugbears (no interior lights in back, and the 18 inch wheels on summer tyres, instead of sensible all seasons) then might become a better alternative to Arona. Especially if Skoda allow sensible options to be added which SEAT don't allow

The main issue with the Arona is lack of Extras that customers in the UK have to put up with
If it has extras then it will be a winner as Skoda have excellent customer Service

From what I can see not as pretty as the Arona but agree back interior lights and a grab handle on passenger side and back doors would be good additions. But still happy with mine.
