Front Assist error and burning smell

Post by Steve.J » Sat Nov 09, 2019 2:59 pm

I have just returned from a shopping trip and on the way back home a message came up on the centre display saying Front Assist not available with a warning symbol showing in the display, when i returned home i checked that the front sensor on the grill was not covered with anything and all was clear and the day in question was dry and not raining i switched on the ignition and went into settings and disabled the front assist and then activated it again but the fault still showed up on the display, i then noticed a strong plastic toxic burning smell coming from the front of the car.
Has anybody else had this problem or is it something more serious and a visit to the dealer is called for!

I would take it to the dealer if it persists.
Burning smells usually mean something bad, unless it was just heat from the engine.
