Post by Johnjo65 » Wed Nov 27, 2019 7:06 pm

With all the wet weather my brake discs rust up every night. Car had already had front discs replaced at 2k. Any resolution available

As BFP say's it's normal, disc brakes are made of iron which rusts easily. If they made them from high carbon steel they wouldn't rust, but that's too hard so the pads would need replacing all the time. Also if the metal the discs were made of were too hard the pads would skim over when the brakes were applied and you'd have poor braking power.

Hi John, if you are after discs from SEAT that would have been the same as from the factory, let us know, we would beat the main Dealer price for the exact same part https://www.seat.fish-bros-parts.co.uk/contact-us/

Hope it helps

I have had many cars and rust on discs is as you say common. Most have spots of rust daily but my arona is completley covered and the noise when first breaking is like metal to metal. I fo not think this is normal. Any constructive comments would be appreciated. I would add thst I love my arona

If you are concerned about the rusty appearance, just gently apply the brakes for a couple of minutes off and on. That's what would normally happen in use, unless your driving is all open road with no braking.
