I didn’t know the Arona did this (hints to others)

Post by Snowdaddy » Sat Jan 12, 2019 8:20 am

Creating a thread with features that you might not know exist.
Please add to the list with others
Some not on all specs, but some I have found

Can fold mirrors to go through narrow gaps like garage doorways by turning mirror button to fold

Can swap between drive and sport mode by flicking the DSG gearstick back

Can display 3 different mpg readings, since start of journey or since refuel, or long term by holding down thumbwheel then scrolling

If stopped with start stop active, restarts automatically when car in front moves off

Can change the door interior lighting from white to red in infotainment (but annoying no rear interior lights)

Changing the interval switch seems to affect the sensitivity of the auto wipers (not sure exactly what happens here unless the change causes a wipe screen regardless)

Can fold mirrors when leaving car by holding down close button

The sync button on climate control is handy for restoring the temperature when passenger is no longer in car

Seems to be a handy little net in passenger footwell which is great for putting ice scraper or sunglasses case in

Offers to find petrol stations on the map when you are low on fuel

You can close all windows, lock the car and fold in mirrors by pressing and holding the close button on the remote or external driver's door handle.
You can unlock car and open all windows, unfold mirrors by pressing and holding the open button on the remote.
You can add icons to radio stations that don't automatically have them by putting icons on an SD card and placing it in the spare SD slot.

Useful tips, thanks!

Don't put too many about the folding mirrors though - it just reminds me that mine don't fold like they're supposed to! ;)

There is a door under the driver's seat that opens down for some small item storage.
There is a door under the passenger seat that opens down to allow you to store the service manual

The CD player in the glove box, on the passenger side.
:-|
Not mentioned in the specs but in the infotainment manual.
Almost, but not entirely, useless. I guess the dealers use it to install the OS/infotainment and optional bits.

Update the sat nav yourself , if you have basic copy n paste skills on a laptop with a sd card slot (( thanks and full credit to others btw I did not discover the trick file copy that’s required , see thread on sat nav update , for full details) also you can unlock the tail gate only if you have comfort access , key in pocket just walk up to tailgate and open it handy if returning to vehicle with parcels etc

You can adjust tone of front and rear prox. sensors, handy to discern if it's front or rear squarking.
