Parking Brake Recall

Post by tonytiger » Wed Apr 10, 2019 11:51 am

Received a letter from Seat today for a recall for possible handbrake failure. My Arona SE Technology has suffered from this since new & it seems Seat has finally accepted there is a fault. Have got used to keeping the foot brake depressed on junctions with inclines as the handbrake can't be trusted, so hopefully this fix may solve the problem.

Tried to get an appointment to have the handbrake fixed. Impossible to get through to the local service department. I wonder if Seat took the trouble to let their dealers know the letter was being sent out!

Hi Guys

Had mine done yesterday whilst it was in for its 36k Service. There is some noticeable difference.

Apparently they add another "Nut" to the cable adjuster mechanism under the centre console
