Brake Pedal 'play'

Post by whenisayjump » Fri May 17, 2019 4:01 pm

Hello everyone,

I've not long taken delivery of my Arona FR Sport, and I'm very pleased with it!

There's just one niggle... I'm not sure if I'm being overly sensitive but there's a little side-to-side play in my brake pedal. It feels almost a bit rattly when I place my foot on it, and now I've noticed it I can't un-notice it.

Is this just mine? Or does anyone else have a little movement in their pedal?

Many thanks,
James

I’ve not noticed that myself but I will check it over the weekend and report back.

Just checked my brake pedal and it has got a little bit of ply in it but it’s not too bad. Wouldn’t have noticed it without this thread, don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

Mine also moves at least 1cm to the left and right. It must be normal.

Usually just a self lubricating plastic bush, not a worry.

It's probably me being a little paranoid!

The brakes seem to be working perfectly... so that's the main thing!

Thanks for your replies :)

Same thing in my car, I wouldn’t have thought about it unless you’d mentioned it.

I've also noticed there's an annoying 'click' at the top of the brake pedal if you press it down gently. I'm sure I've never noticed anything like it on any other car I've driven.

I've also got a rattle/crunchy noise from the passenger side that's developed, so perhaps I'll mention the brake pedal when I get the rattle looked at.
