Range dropping

Post by MattGrover » Thu Aug 15, 2019 6:16 pm

I’ve got a 19 plate FR Sport with the 1.5 EVO, thus far, all’s been great, however the “Range” has recently dropped.

Started out display 370 miles on a full tank, the other week it said 350 and after filling up today 345.

Any ideas??

It calculates an estimate based on recent use, so if you use in more urban environments with lower mpg will show a lower range, sometimes goes back up in use if you drive at steady speed.

Wouldn’t worry about it. Mine has showed 310 after refuelling in London traffic, but 370 or more when on rural A roads.

Dont worry

Start using http://www.fuelly.com and you can see your consumption.
Mine (1.0 TSi 130HP 280Nm DSG7 ) is on this site too.
You can see when I tow a trailer to the French Alpes , the consumption goes through the roof.
I usually get almost to 5 liters/100km (1 liter every 20 km) driving to work , not at any high speeds, max 90km/hour

I think it is a guesstimate based on your recent mpg reading.
It can fluctuate quite a lot when the tank is less than 1/4 full, depending on how you are driving.

If you scroll through the various options, you can find your long term mpg, which is probably more accurate than just looking at your range figure.
