Thanks for this, I really wasn’t aware of the difference in leads/cables etc, just “assumed” - which really is a dangerous think to do! I’ve now been educated and I hope that others who’ve experienced this problem will now know, use decent leads, there is a difference!

Not for us. Same lead, high quality OE from Samsung (Android Auto, not CarPlay), drops out intermittently in my wifes Arona but works flawlessly in my Leon FR estate.

I’m going to try a new lead to connect my Motorola tomorrow to use Android Auto, it will be interesting to see how that goes, that’s why I’ve not cancelled my main dealer appointment, just postponed it so I can see what happens. All I’ll say at the moment is that it looks hopeful but no more than that. There appears to be too many others out there experiencing similar problems. I’ll see how the new lead goes with Android Auto and do another update.

Problem solved on my iPhone not connecting to Wireless CarPlay in my facelift car. I had to read the manual to get to the bottom of it but it turns out you have to have Siri turned on and you have to set up CarPlay with a cable before it will connect wirelessly.
Happy to have it all working again :)

Android Auto Update:- Disconnected iPhone and went back to my Android Motorola, set it up with my new (proper) usb lead and it’s worked fine today, all apps, Audible, Waze, telephone etc., was only a relatively short journey but so far so good. I’m still not totally convinced that this is a cure but fingers crossed. I’ll keep you updated on my progress.

Yeah. My wife's Arona had a new headunit under warranty, and all seemed well for a day or so...then it started dropping out again.

Morning. Greetings from Singapore! I am driving a 2018 Seat Arona too and occasionally gets disconnected from my iPhone from Apple CarPlay. Having driven a couple of European cars I realised that sometimes the cause might be a weak/old car battery that is due for replacement. I have experienced in two Citroens and the Seat Arona that after changing the battery, the Apple CarPlay became more reliable. I also agree that using a quality connection leads helped. Hope that this helps. Victor

Hi, thanks for your comments, I’m all good now, it seemed that my problem was basically using charging cables instead of proper data cable. Also I’ve now gone wireless, bought an MSXTTLY adapter from Amazon and it works brilliantly. Thanks again for your comments.
