Sorry think i clicked on AROSA not ARONA when searching as GSF came up with parts

 

I have tried GSF and Eurocarparts but on both of their websites, on entering my reg number to find parts, it comes back with 'no search results to display'.

I have just had a look at autodoc and it does indeed show rear shocks for my registration number but then on the shock info it clearly states not for cars equipped with DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) which is the technology that allows you to choose different driving modes and the Arona FR has this (well at least mine does) so they are no good.

Is this an FR model with normal shock absorbers
or the FR sport with dynamic chassis control (DCC) with active shock absorbers

Autodoc should work, enter make, model and engine if reg number doesn't work

I have tried both methods and still all the shocks shown either say 'for vehicles without electronic suspension' or 'for vehicles without DCC' which means that none of them are suitable for my FR.

Autodoc are not very good on delivery etc

 

so it looks like main dealer or (scrap yard ) ie vehicle dismantlers

 

I have a weep on the near side shock absorber and have tried local garages but they have said that these shock absorbers are factory parts only and they have been quoted £900 plus just for the shock absorbers alone, does anyone know if this is right or can suitable shocks be bought other than from Seat themselves.

The Volkswagen group (including Seat) do not make shock absorbers, they buy them in.

I have never looked, but ought to be available from big motor factor (parts) companies like Autodoc

Garages often seem to detect weaping, misting or leaking (they seem to use terms interchangeably), which needs replacing if you are (overpriced) paying, but are perfectly satisfactory if you want them done under warranty. All breeds mistrust as it is double standards.

The very quick test is grab the wheel arch, lift the corner of the car, let go, (or can open boot and press down), does it bounce up and down on springs or settle straight down. If it bounces around then need changing. But I would suggest getting a price from local garage or a fast fit centre, probably be half what a main dealer stealer wants
